When will you come out
of the jokes
of your own skin
the skin you still believe
is filled with
childish innocence
when will you take your feet
out of the pond
of stubbornness
you are not going
any deeper
it is a mind-made pond
you keep swimming
with the same fish
you put there yourself
some are already dead
you do not even know
they may still move
inside your memory
as if they are alive
but they are only
sediments now
settled
at the bottom
when will you stop believing
that every person you meet
is worth trusting
do they really have to
rip your soul apart
carry it to the market
and weigh your innocence
for every penny
they can get
before you learn
when will you stop waiting
at the sign
that already tells you
to go
you keep standing there
thinking someone will return
and stand beside you
until the light
turns red again
no
not everyone wants
to stay in the shade
with you
you can think
and think
and think
but dude
at the crossroads of life
sometimes thinking
is only another way
of standing still
you need to move
you need to know
which road is yours
even when nobody
walks beside you
and when people clap
do not believe
every sound
sometimes
you strike a four
and they praise it
as a six
learn the difference
between applause
and truth
between waiting
and hope
between innocence
and blindness
then step out
of that pond
the road
has been green
for a long time
