“Don’t listen to the gossips.
People are talking behind your back
while trying to be good to you.
I genuinely don’t love you.
You should move on,
otherwise you’ll end up hurt and broken.”
She warned me.
I didn’t listen.
Even the courage
to come to me and say that
sounded like she had
some infatuation with me.
I believed in my friends,
the ones who called me
psycho and crazy behind my back,
then asked me to perform
a romantic stunt to impress her,
as if I were some hero
in a movie.
How could a two or three-hour movie
define an entire life?
Destinies,
fate,
junctions,
struggles,
young days,
young blood.
I really thought
I was Superman,
just without the underwear
over my trousers.
Flying higher and higher,
until reality hit me
and shattered me
into multiple pieces.
Goodbye, bullies.
Goodbye, all those bully friends.
It hurts me more
to realise that my friends betrayed me
than to accept
that she never loved me.
The poor girl
had done nothing wrong.
But, yeah,
I’m a compassionate soul.
I forgive my friends,
with a heavy heart,
but I will keep my distance.
