You are a star
as long as you are in the sky.
Once you come down,
hit the surface of the earth,
you become a meteorite.
The ever-sparkling, twinkling star
will now be feared
for the crater it creates,
the destruction it brings,
as well as the valuables it leaves
for curious minds to seek.
That’s what I’m saying.
You are a star
as long as you keep shining,
as long as you keep falling,
granting everyone’s wishes.
Once you become something
heavy,
some hearts will feel burdened.
You will lose your charm
the moment you strike
closer to them.
So I tell people,
don’t call me a star.
Either call me a chocolate bar,
or just forget me, assuming
I live too far,
just like the star.
Without the S,
you won’t keep me in your heart,
depositing memories like tar.
