Sometimes…..
I imagine.
What if the clouds stopped moving?
Not tomorrow.
Not for a day.
But for a whole year.
Imagine the clouds
just staying where they are.
Not even an inch.
Locked in the sky.
And the world…..
just waiting.
The rain would fall
and fall
and fall
in some places.
Villages swallowed by floods.
Homes disappearing
under the water.
And somewhere else?
Nothing.
No rain.
No relief.
Just dry, cracked land
under a burning sun.
The grass turns brown.
The plants die of thirst.
The earth opens its mouth,
but the sky has nothing to give.
And slowly…
the fields stop feeding us.
Fewer crops.
Less food.
More hunger.
More poverty.
A catastrophe.
All because
the clouds stopped moving.
Now…
I wonder.
What if the people
who run this planet
stopped moving too?
What if our leaders
became like those clouds?
Rigid.
Unwilling to change.
Holding on to their positions,
their power,
their greed…
while the world beneath them
begins to drown?
Tell me…
what happens to the people
who have no power
to move those clouds?
What happens to the farmer
watching his crops die?
To the family
watching floodwater enter their home?
To the child
who doesn’t understand
why there is no food on the table?
Will they be told
to wait?
Wait for a decision.
Wait for a promise.
Wait for someone powerful
to finally move?
But what if they never do?
What if the clouds
stay exactly where they are?
And what if the leaders
stay exactly who they are?
I hope…
I hope the greed
of those leaders
bursts apart like glaciers.
I hope something breaks.
Not the people.
Not the planet.
But the stubbornness
that keeps us watching
while everything falls apart.
